Where can I find a mountain biking club to join around Denver?

Posted in Clubs over 3 years ago, 2 replies

I am moving to Denver in the fall and I have a little interest in mountain biking...I would like to know about the area, what bike type (suspension, etc.) would be good to purchase, and where to find a mountain biking club to join.

Any advice or contacts would be great...thanks in advance

The BEST place to stop for ANY information about the Colorado Outdoors is at the REI Flagship store ORIC* desk. There is a Sunday 3pm class for those new to Colorado with all kinds of FREE information, including where to bike and mountain bike in the state. ORIC = Outdoor Recreation Information Center

Go with a full suspension, you can often get great deals on bikes from rental places in the mountains unloading in the winter. Full suspension is funner and safer on rocky trails even if you're not hardcore. There are a bunch of meetups for rides on the web and craigslist, but if you pretty much show up in the parking lot of any of the front range trail heads and hang out for a bit you'll find a group to ride with...
